TrixBoxTools.co.uk hosts various projects related to the asterisk based PBX solution called trixbox. The following projects are currently in progress:

  • trixbox-reloaded - a rewrite of the trixbox 1.2.3/2.0 installation script. Reworked to support Centos i386, Centos x86_64, Fedora Core 6 i386 and Fedora Core 6 x86_64. In addition most of the applications installed in a normal trixbox have been upgraded to the latest versions and work is progressing to integrate these in the Freepbx dialplan. Open Source Community contributed extensions and improvements have also been included (Asterfax, Hylafax+IAX modem, Wildfire + asterisk plugin, vgps phone configuration + many others, voiceRD extension to SugarCRM). Using the modularity of the rewrite a plugin system is being developed so that 3rd party developers can add thier projects to the core install using simple shell scripts. Read this for a brief overview of the benefits of x86_64 in an Asterisk environment. Keep an eye on the bugtracker and the wiki. Most of the new stuff is being added there.

  • visdn RPM - an update of the existing visdn RPM plus integration of Laimbock.com's modifications from 04/2006. Focus has been placed in auto configuring HFC based PCI cards for which a script has been developed and integrated in the RPM. (also an add-on for trixbox reloaded)

  • Optimised Speex RPM - A set of re-compiled Speex 1.2 beta RPM's with processor optimisations to take full advantage of modern processor technologies such as SSE and MMX to acheive performance comparable to G729 codecs. Most speex rpm's included in Linux distros are at the older 1.0x revision which does not support SSE or MMX fully. (included in trixbox reloaded)

  • Optimised Spandsp0.0.3 RPM's - which work with trixbox installations. Spandsp 0.0.3 brings strong support for faxing (T38), optimised codecs (currently g726) and many bugfixes. These RPM's are also processor optimised. (included in trixbox reloaded)
